Official announcement: Termini commits to repair-first products, recycled materials, and an expanded spare parts program to extend product lifecycles.

Termini Announces Sustainability Pledge and Repair Program

Today Termini is proud to announce a formal sustainability pledge and the launch of our Repair Program. As a young design-forward shop, we recognize the environmental impact of the gear industry and the opportunity to do things differently. Our commitments focus on responsible materials, repairability, and transparency in our supply chain.

Why This Matters

Durability and repairability are two of the most effective ways to reduce environmental impact. When products last longer and can be maintained, fewer items end up in landfills. Our pledge is a public set of commitments that hold us accountable and provide customers with clear expectations about product lifecycle support.

Key Commitments

  • Repair-First Design: All future Termini products will be designed with serviceability in mind, including easily replaceable components and open repair guides.
  • Parts Availability: We will maintain an online inventory of spare parts for flagship products for at least five years after a model retires.
  • Materials Transparency: We will publish material breakdowns for major components and pursue increased use of recycled and responsibly sourced materials.
  • Minimal Packaging: Our packaging will be recyclable and sized to reduce shipping waste, with refill programs for consumable items.

Repair Program Details

The Repair Program provides three tiers of service: DIY support with detailed guides and replacement parts; an assisted repair service for more complex fixes handled by local partners; and a factory repair lane for structural or warranty-covered repairs. We partner with regional repair hubs to minimize shipping and reduce turnaround time.

Trade-In and Refurbishment

To promote reuse we will offer a trade-in program where qualifying returned products receive refurbishment and are resold as certified pre-owned with a warranty. Trade-in credits will be applied toward future Termini purchases, encouraging circular ownership patterns.

Measurement and Reporting

Transparency is central to our pledge. We will publish annual reports detailing materials use, repair volumes, and progress toward recycled-content targets. These reports will be independently audited by a third-party verifier to ensure credibility.

‘Commitment without measurement is wishful thinking; we intend to show progress in numbers and stories,’ — Termini Operations Lead.

How Customers Can Participate

If you own Termini gear, you can register your product online to receive tailored repair updates and access to replacement parts. We also encourage customers to submit repair stories and photos, which help us improve instructions and identify common failure points.

Next Steps for the Product Roadmap

Design cycles will now include a serviceability review. Early prototypes will be evaluated not only for aesthetics and performance, but also for how easily core parts can be replaced. We will prioritize components that commonly fail: wheels, handles, zippers, and electronics bays.

Invitation to Collaborate

We know we can't solve systemic waste alone. Termini invites repair shops, recycling firms, and other brands to collaborate on shared standards for repairability and parts interchangeability. If you are interested in partnering, please reach out via partnerships at termini.shop.

Final Remarks

This pledge is the start of a long journey. We are committed to honest reporting and steady progress. Our goal is to create gear that supports many journeys and can be loved, used, repaired, and passed on. Thank you to our community for supporting this approach — sustainable products require patient customers and companies willing to invest in the long term.
